Citizen Comments: None Updates and Reports: • FBO Update (Phillip Wolford) None • Airport Manager Update (Michael Doi) o Regional Airport: Will try to call for an update. o RC Event – Still waiting for a response from FAA/IDOT o Project updates o Parking Lot Project: Still at a standstill – waiting on a response from IDOT Aeronautics. o Fuel Island Project: Hung up on cost. $1 million budgeted, bids came back at $1.4 - $1.5 million. Will send out to bid again and hopefully get more bids at a lower cost. They feel a 15,000 gallon tank is needed as opposed to a 10,000 gallon tank. o Airport Layout Plan: Contract was approved by IDOT and received today. • Airport Maintenance Update (provided by Michael Doi) o Repp asked for ruts from plowing to be filled in. o AWOS system – parts are hard to find since it’s so old. o Moving airport fence – will contact Howe’s for a price. Old/Tabled Business: • Status – IDOT inspection from September 2023 has safety zones and trees left. • Purchase of AED (defibrillator) o Aaron Repp through the Experimental Aviation organization put together a fund raiser and they have raised $1800 so far for the AED. They are hoping to get a system that will interface with GHAS but those models may be priced closer to $2400 instead of the original cost of $1800. • Event SOP form discussion – FAA was contacted in February, still no response. 286 days approximate response time. New Business General Discussion of Other Airport Related Topics: • Hangar Construction o Dean Maupin has not gotten back to Mike Doi. o Bill Hurley asked what role our Corporation Council is playing when working on the private hangar construction/business terms. Does the City have contract review measures or standards? Next Meeting: May 16, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., International Stearman Community Center, Stearman building, second floor.
