MINUTES
November 21, 2024, 3:00 p.m.
International Stearman Community Center, Stearman Building, Second Floor
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Aaron Repp at 3:00 p.m.

3. Approval of Minutes: October 17, 2024, Meeting
Christensen made a motion to accept the minutes of the meeting as presented and seconded by
Ken Springer. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Updates and Reports:
a. FBO Update (Phillip Wolford)
Air traffic has been average.
b. Airport Manager Update (Eric Hanson)
Met with Jeff Olson to discuss ongoing projects. Fuel island plans are to be complete by
December. Parking lot plans are to be completed so that the project can make the March
letting through IDOT. ALP issues have been straightened out, but it will be a three project.
Met with Phillip and Toby to discuss other projects and concerns including the private
hangar lease. Budget will be approved on December 2nd. Still working on finding funds to
demolish the old terminal building and construct an new maintenance building. Will get
with Legal to work on the property tax issue with hangar leases. Aaron Gavin will be taking
the position of Public Works Director at the first of the year and will assume the role of
the Airport Manager.
c. Airport Maintenance Update (Don Miles)
Gutter and roof work to possibly start tomorrow near Jet Air walk door. Once this work is
complete a new smaller awning will be put up over door. Ameren has been made aware
of the issue with the settling transformers in the parking lot. It has been stated that the
issue should be resolved before the first of the year. Roger Darst will be retiring next
month and Dave Vandermeer has been hired to take his place and is currently training
with Roger to make sure that there is a smooth transition with maintenance operations.

7. General Discussion of other Airport Related Topics
Carlton asked about painting murals on the hangar doors as was discussed awhile back.
Christensen asked about keeping regional status. Wolford explained that status is updated every
two years, so pilots need to keep doing what they have been doing to keep numbers above the
threshold.
Repp mentioned that the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) has a plethora
information about operating airports and it even has a section about hangar leasing.
8. Citizen Comments
None
9. Next Meeting: A motion was made and approved to cancel December’s meeting due to the
proximity to the Christmas holiday. The next meeting will be Thursday January 16, 2025.
10. Adjournment: A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 3:36 pm
