Commission member remarks
● King reports she has one more item to update in the narrative for the infographic. Pease
reports that the infographic would be able to be printed in color and graphic. Donaldson
asked where the information would be available. King reported it could be accessible at
the city and anywhere else that may like to have it available to the community.
● King reports she did not receive any responses from the Commission regarding items
that should be priority for the city to address. The deadline for submission of this will be
moved to September 23rd. Grimes suggested the city address rental agreements as well
as vendor agreements. King suggestion was for the city to address the lack of children of
color being represented in advance placement courses. She would like to see the city
work on education initiatives with the school district.
● King reports the police department sent over an announcement that they are recruiting.
King wondered if there was an option for someone from the Commision to participate in
the interviewing process. Dabale asked whether or not a permanent resident could apply
or if they must be a US citizen. King will follow up on this question with the police and fire
commission.

● Grimes thanked those who came to the NAACP Community Cookout. Grimes looks
forward to continued work with the collaboration.

● Dabale reports she is happy to be a part of the commission.
