Meeting called to order on June 2, 2022 at 6:pm by King.
Members Present: King, Donaldson, McKillip, Wallace, Dabale. City Liaison: Pease
McKillip motioned to approve May minutes. Donaldson seconded.
Chairman’s remarks
●The chairman of the Election’s Commission was not able to attend today’s meeting.
Their next meeting is on Monday and Community Relations Commission members were
encouraged to attend.
●There has not been any additional information regarding Mr. Jones’ complaint. King will
attempt to contact him one more time and if no response within a week, the complaint
will be closed.
New Business
●The Commission agreed to meet in person next month and discuss how to proceed with
future meetings.
Commission Member Remarks & Community Events
●Dabale attempted to follow up with the taxi company regarding Mr. Spinks’ complaint, but
the phone line was busy. Dabale will attempt to call again and send a letter if necessary.
If there is no response, a decision will be made at next month’s meeting of how to
proceed.
●McKillip asked that we request a meeting with the mayor and city manager to discuss all
licensed and contracted people being required to adhere to nondiscriminatory clauses.
●Dabale reported that the Big Read is coming up next week
●Donaldson reported that there is a PRIDE ally event coming up on January 20th and a
Crucial Conversations training on August 9&10.
●McKillip reported there is an education committee for the NAACP and after school
volunteers are welcome.
●Wallace reports the recent news and events in our country are concerning. Also Pride in
the Burg is tomorrow night.

Wallace made a motion to adjourn at 6:45pm, Donaldson seconded.
