Meeting called to order January 5, 2023 at 6:23pm.
Chairman’s remark’s:
- Meeting with the mayor and city manager
- Discussed diversity and inclusion training due to previous leadership problems within
the city’s structure
o Needing more in-depth training for upper management
o Reexamine the hiring process
- Check on the 2020 Census and diversity within the community (McKillip will obtain)
- Create a non-discrimination clause.
Commission Members Remarks
- McKillip more accessible voting on the southeast end of town/have more structed
curriculum for training
- Wallace reevaluate the qualifications of the city grants provided
Goals for 2023
- McKillip- having a better understanding of what’s going on
- Michael Spinks vs. taxi company
o King will reach out to provide with updates
- Gogo vs. leasing
o King will follow up
King- no remarks
McKillip- we need to do nominations
Wallace- no remarks
