Meeting called to order March 2, 2023 at 6:14pm.
Robinson made a motion to approve the minutes and King seconded for February.
Wallace made a motion to approve the minutes and King seconded for January, Robinson
abstained.
Introductions
Chairman’s remark’s:
- King found that White Caucasian 77.5%, Black 13.8%, American Indian 0.1%, Asian 1.6%,
two or more 4.2%, Hispanic 7.9%, white non-Hispanic 7.9%, foreign born 4.8%, people
who are differently abled under the age of 65 12.6%,
o Numbers are more than likely skewed due to various reasons (i.e.. Pandemic,
safety, etc.)
o What is our immigrant population
- Wanting to get a rough outline for the grant and board makeup, wording or stories that
need to be shared (our recommendations)
o Caucasian 72%, Color 25%, Differently Abled 1%, Foreign Born 1%, and wild card
1%
- Would like an email in the next two weeks for the information gathered
Commission Members Remarks
- Wanting to get more information out to the immigrants and underserved communities.

- Concerns with accessibility ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) (Robinson)
- Helping with language barriers and helping immigrants get resources (Gogo)
- Get the figures from DHS of our immigrant population, applications need to be in
different languages (Robinson)

Public Comment
Kaye was invited by Carolinn, interested in serving,
King- Skate event for PFlag $10 entry fee April 8 th 3-5pm and changing your name and
assignment March 11 3pm, hosted by Jeremy Karlin
Robinson- had a PFlag forum for the city elected official son the 14 th at 6:30pm, hosted by the
radio station
Wallace- Support Group for African American Affairs is trying to be more prominent will have
more information
Gogo- provided complimentary passes for Selfie Museum, event planning, rentals, will have a
woman’s village on March 26 from 1-4 at the Selfie Museum, June -July will be the 2 nd Lipanda
Celebration “Freedom” will include fashion show and concert
Meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm
Robinson made a motion to adjourn, Gogo seconded.
Next meeting April 6, 2023 at 6 pm
