King called meeting to order 6:03pm
Present: McKillip, King, and Wallace
New commissioner Taylor
Not present: Robinson and Kupa
Chair remarks: Flag ordinance can be found on the city website. An email was sent to request
feedback by the end of the day, to be sent off the next day. There is a lack of education of
heritages and history of the town.
Commissioner Remarks:
McKillip: Proposed putting together a black history bowl for 2025.
Announcements: Discussion about the Task Force and the needs for a community center.
Possibly draft a letter to address community relations.
Public Remarks: Pam Davidson discussed the flag ordinance believe that it’s being put in place
to restrict certain groups. She’s requesting for the “Black History Flag” and the “Hispanic
Heritage” flags to be flown during designated months or days.
NAACP offered to come and talk about how to engage with the community.
