If there is any money left over, it will be spent on a few new pull carts. ● Director Oligney-Estill reiterated that the changes to the parking lot will be complete by the spring of 2022. These changes will create a few additional parking spaces for people coming out to golf. ● Director Oligney-Estill followed up with Head Golf Professional Luedtke that when product arrives is what dictates which budget year the expenses will be charged to. As discussed, if Head Golf Professional Luedtke wants to order garments for the 2022 season in the 2021 fiscal year, those garments have to arrive by December 31, 2021. Head Golf Professional Luetke said his suppliers are cautioning their clients that there may be long delays to get product in. New Business: • Commissioner Reynolds asked about the Golf Product Showcase that Head Golf Professional Luedtke attended several years ago and if we had enough product left to attend that show again. Head Golf Professional Luedtke stated that he went to the show several years ago to see how the ran and if it was worth going. He found out that it was not cost effective to attend unless there was a lot of product left at the end of the year to clear out. Family Golf •Installed banner on the side of the clubhouse advertising & promoting our Family Golf Program. •Constant reminders in the Weekly Email Blast. •Included Family Golf in our advertisements with "The Burg" publication. •Extremely successful Junior Golf Program which was good advertisement for our Family Golf Program. •This resulted in a 36% increase in Family Golf rounds in 2021. 2. Ladies Golf •Installed banner on the side of the clubhouse advertising & promoting our New Ladies Day Golf Special. (Every Thursday for the entire year.) •Constant reminders in the Weekly Email Blast. •Fielded a Ladies Bixby Cup team for the first time in 15 years competing against other local clubs, Lake Bracken and Soangataha. Our ladies had a great time and created great commararderie with the other clubs. •We had numerous groups of ladies come over and play from the local clubs, Lake Bracken, Oak Run and Soangetaha, taking advantage of our Thursday Ladies Day Special. This relationship also resulted in having a Carl Sandburg Women's Golf Meet at Bunker Links later in the season. •Met with the Ladies League Chair and the Tuesday Night Mixed League Chair on numerous occasions talking about how we can help promote the two leagues with flyers, email blasts, front nine/back nine play and starting times. •This resulted in a 50% increase in Thursday Ladies League participation and rounds in 2021. •It also resulted in a 65% increase in Tuesday Night Mixed League participation and rounds in 2021. 3. Junior Golf •Our Junior Golf Program was a huge success. Range time, putting drills and an exciting "putting contest / miniature golf course" set up on the last day of the program was a big hit. •Our PGA Head Golf Professional took 3 of our Junior Members (C. Hopping, B. Templeton & J. Runbom) to the Iowa PGA Pro-Junior in Iowa City. The kids finished 3rd in the event, and were extremely excited, and this helped ready the players for their upcoming high school golf season. •These same kids had a terrific GHS Golf Season, including 4 of their players making it to the Sectional Finals. All four of these kids I have worked with on different parts of their golf games over the last few years. Jason Runbom was recently named 1st Team All-Confernce and Conference MVP, and qualified for the State Finals where he finished 7th in the State. Ben Templeton was named 2nd Team All-Conference. C. Hopping shot his first under par 9 during a HS Match. •We created the NAPA Junior Scholarship Program. 14 full golf scholarships including a dozen golf balls for all Juniors who filled out an application, sponsored by our Season Pass Holders and League Players. •Our PGA Head Golf Professional and Mayor Schwartzman made a presentation to all of the scholarship winners at one of the City Council Meetings in the spring. •This scholarship program resulted in a 300% increase in Minor Season Passes and an overall 88% increase in all three categories - (Minor, Junior & Young Adult) compared to 2020.
