The sod declined rapidly from two hot days earlier this month from a lack of a root system. Old Business: ● The Commission decided to extend the $29 spring special through May to give the 16th green more time to heal. New Business: • Nick Draper asked for a full refund as BNSF Railroad has transferred him to Lincoln, NE. The commission decided to pro-rate his refund by deducting the 6 rounds he has played this year. Bryan will get Tony the information and Tony will submit the refund request to the Finance Department. • Dave Selkirk shared a comment from a golfer that would like to see a tee box added to the 7th hole that is between the existing tee box and the junior tee for super seniors. Bryan Luedtke added that by adding a tee box in this location, it would make the 7th hole a par 4 for women instead of its current par 5 status. This would then make the course an overall par 71 for both men and women. Currently it is a par 71 for men and a par 72 for women. Citizen Comments: ● Peter Schwartzman suggested that we do a presentation for the youth receiving the golf scholarships prior to the May 17th City Council Meeting. Tony said he would speak with Administration to try and make this happen. Meeting adjourned at 5:03 P.M. Next Golf Commission Meeting will be on May 25, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. ___________________________________ Tony Oligney-Estill, Director of Parks and Recreation
