Roll Call: Present: Members: Dave Selkirk, Steve Cheesman, Paul Sandborg, Jerry Reynolds, Rodney Bunch, Greenskeeper Matt Miles, Head Golf Professional Bryan Luedtke, Park Superintendent Don Miles, Director of Parks & Recreation Tony Oligney-Estill Absent: Minutes of April 27, 2021 meeting were approved. Greenkeeper Report: Greenskeeper Matt Miles reported: ● Periods of extreme rain has made maintenance a challenge this month. ● The damaged area o the 16th green is filling in but is still not ready to be played on. The plan is to open the green for play with pin placements near the front edge of the green on Saturday May 29th for the summer golf season. The damaged area will remain roped off and designated as ground under repair. The temporary green will still be maintained and used periodically when additional maintenance to the ground under repair is needed during normal golf traffic to ensure the pace of play continues without interruption and for the safety of the staff. ● Commissioner Bunch asked if something could be done to have people driving carts to stay on the path when leaving the tee on the 4th hole. Currently, people leave the tee area and go left through a low spot on the course that is generally wet. ● Commissioner Bunch asked about the tree that was removed on the 13th hole. He asked if a new tree would be planted in its place. Greenskeeper Miles said that area is swampy and trees have a hard time securing its roots. ● Commissioner Cheesman asked about the length of the rough. He thought it was thicker and taller than in the past. Greenskeeper Miles said the length is the same as it has been in past years at 2.5”. The rough will thin out over the course of the summer as the weather gets warmer and there is less rain. Report was reviewed and accepted.
