rains and now extreme heat and humidity. The course is taking a beating from the climate
swings. Fall aerification will be very important to retore turf health this season.
● Greens are getting spiked once a week with slicer attachments to try and mitigate dry
spots and open the soil up for airflow.
● Chronic wet fairway areas have been gone over with the slicer attachment on the tractor
to open the soil in order for it to dry out and get some oxygen.
● New Bunker Links signage that the traffic division made was installed on the brick
façade at the entrance to the property.

New Business:
• Hole 5 is very wet just before the green and the front of the green. Some ideas were
talked about how to fix this issue. Greenskeeper Miles thought the best solution was to
turn that area back into a creek.
• Commissioner Selkirk asked about cooling the deck area since it is so hot right now. He
asked about adding fans on the deck. Head Golf Professional Luedtke said he had
watered down the concrete and shade structure earlier in the day which did seem to help.
Superintendent Miles said he would see what fan options are available but didn’t want
fans that people could move around.
• The commission agreed to reduce the daily rate with cart to $19 starting in October. Head
Golf Professional will decide when in October to start this discounted rate.
• The commission agreed that placing an add in the Burg a the last week of September and
within the first two weeks of October to market the Octoberfest rate was a good idea.
Depending on the cost and how much funds are available for marketing, possibly putting
an add in the Burg for the Labor Day edition would also be a good idea.
Citizen Comments:
• None.
Meeting adjourned at 5:06 P.M.
Next Golf Commission Meeting will be on August 24, 2021 at 4:00 P.M.
