The railing is not the correct one that was ordered and will be replaced in the next month. The Engineering Division is working on the bridge replacement on #1. Looks like a culvert will be installed instead of a bridge. • Alderman: Alderman Cheesman reported that he and the rest of the council are willing to help the golf course however they can. • Greenkeeper: Greenkeeper Miles reported that over the last few months dirt work and seeding had been done to fill in low and bare areas. Course accessories had been brought in and refurbished for the new season. Yearend spray applications were completed, and new year applications have already begun. Greens and par three tees were top-dressed to help insulate them from the winter temperatures and smooth them out. Fairways were aerated and the cores were drug back in to fill holes. Brush had been removed from the waterway edges and tall grass areas. Sand bunkers were edged, and snow fencing was put up to keep sand from blowing out. Tree trimming and ongoing cleanup of branches from spring winds has taken place. The fairway irrigation pump was removed and repaired. Equipment maintenance has been completed. Greens, tees, and fairways have already been mowed this spring. Tees were aerated with slicing tines. New yellow stakes and rope have been installed around the ponds to deter geese traffic. This is an increase of 3,664 rounds compared to 2022. Most revenue accounts saw substantial increases compared to 2022 as well. 258 season passes have already been sold and golf rounds in March have already set a new record for the month. Over the winter Bryan attended a PGA merchandiser conference near Orlando, Florida, did some training updates, finalized merchandise for the coming season. He has also worked on Centennial ideas for the coming season as well. Bunker Links also hosted the Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours event on March 21st. This event was held to promote the golf course and it coincided with the kickoff of our Centennial season. Old Business: Stan Devlin asked about how the process will go for the new cart lease. Interim Director Miles stated that the RFP would go out this summer and that we can have additional options as part of the request, but staff can choose which options would be preferred before approval of the bid. New Business: Rodney Bunch asked that expansion of holes #10 And #14 be inputted into the budget for the work to be done in the future. Dave Selkirk asked about leveling tees. Greenkeeper Miles stated that a contractor would be the best option to accomplish the work, since staff do not have the time to do the work themselves. Citizen Comments: Wayne Miles asked about the servicing of the golf carts. It was explained that the annual spring service was part of the lease of the carts and that most repairs are covered under warranty. Meeting adjourned at 4:40 P.M. ___________________________________ Don Miles, Interim Parks and Recreation Director
