Minutes: Minutes from the March 2025 meeting were approved, with a motion from Reynolds,
2nd by Reedy.
Citizen Comments:
None.
Reports:
Parks and Recreation Director:
Director Miles reported that the drainage project was completed as of April 9th. Engineering
staff are close to going out for bids for the bridge replacement on hole #3. Plans are still being
drawn up for the culvert work on hole #1 to replace the bridge there as well. Cart path work
and sealing of the parking lot are also planned for later this summer.
Council Liaison:
Steve Cheesman reported that he is creating a master list of projects to be completed at the
golf course. He has been talking to players and listening to what they would like to see done in
the next few years.
Greenkeeper:
Greenkeeper Miles reported.
• Aeration of tees with the slicing tines was done.
• Golf accessories have been put back out on the course.

• The golf course bathrooms are now operational.
• The irrigation system has been put back in use. Leaks have been detected and are being
repaired as time allows.
• Greens, tees, and approach areas were rolled after the winter thaw.
• Springtime spray applications are being applied.
• Extra maintenance and starter fertilizer applications are being done to the new sod and seeded
areas to help get them established. We would like to ask golfers to take a drop out of these areas
if they land in them so they will root in without damage from golf traffic.
• Greens were aerated with long solid tines. They were then top -dressed with sand to fill in the
holes. Fertilizer was applied to help them heal.
Golf Professional:
Golf Professional Luedtke provided a review of the first month of operation for 2025. Rounds
were down for the month, but still above the average. Revenue is up, probably due to the rate
increases, because we are down about 100 passes sold for the year so far. The Masters Pool
was well attended. The Skins Game had a new record for players. The spring special will run
through April 27th. The new range balls will be put into service starting May 1st. New employees
are improving, and we will be hosting three golf outings the first week of May. Hoping for
warmer weather to bring golfers out to the course.
Old Business:
None.
New Business:
A discussion was held about capital improvements that need to be addressed. Items included in
the discussion were cart paths from tee to green, tee rebuilding, rebuilding of the four greens
on the back side that are severely sloped, irrigation system upgrades, driving range
improvements, etc. Director Miles and Council Member Cheesman stated that between the two
of them, the commission’s concerns would be addressed in future budgets. Member Selkirk
stated that there are grants out there to get some of these projects completed. Grant
possibilities will be investigated.
