Bunch.
Citizen Comments:
None.
Reports:
Parks and Recreation Director:
Director Miles reported that the first draft of the budget has not been released yet. There is a
budget work session on Monday with Council. Bid openings for the cart path work and drainage
work will be tomorrow. Park staff have been working on the site for the culvert placement on
hole #1 to replace the bridge. The parking lot work has been completed, and it is a very nice
upgrade. The painted parking stalls improve the overall appearance.
A question about a low spot in the lot being fixed and about parking blocks. Director Miles
explained that the low area would have to wait until next year before the lot is striped so as not
to cover any lines that have already been painted. The parking blocks at the east end and along
the south side of the lot were not placed back due to them not serving a purpose any longer.
More blocks could be removed in the lower lot, if parking stalls are marked in the future.
Council Liaison:
Steve Cheesman reported that he is still working through the process of getting grant
information. He said that there are a lot of people involved in the process and that he has
spoken to the Executive Director of the Peoria Park District asking how they went about
securing grants that they have received for projects that have been completed in recent years
at their golf facilities.

Greenkeeper Miles reported.
• Considerable overseeding in the fairways and rough areas was done to help fill in areas affected
by summer decline from the extreme heat and humidity.
• Greens were verti cut in one direction this month.
• Greens were aerified with coring tines on the 9th. Sand was applied that day and a week later to
fill in and smooth things out. Fertilizer was applied to boost recovery.
• A big water leak was repaired behind the 18th green. The system is brittle and in need of
replacement.
• A fresh coat of paint has been applied to the shelter at 9 tee.
• The water ways around 2,6,14, and 16 tees have been trimmed down so golfers can tee off
without interference.
A question was asked about the excess water at the bottom of #8 fairway. Greenkeeper Miles
stated that it is an irrigation(sprinkler) issue not a drainage issue.
A question was asked about the algae in the ponds and if it could be treated. Greenkeeper Miles
explained that it could be, but he would prefer to see some rainfall to assist with the treatment
to avoid potential wildlife kill from the chemicals sitting in the stagnant water.
There was also a short discussion about posting signs explaining to players being responsible for
damage to the course.
Golf Professional:
Golf Professional Luedtke provided a review of the numbers for August. Rounds played in
August were up with a new record set for the month with 5,237 rounds played. Revenue was
up, with range ball revenue way up. Merchandise and Food/ Beverage was flat. Hosted the
Cards/Cubs event, league year end events, All City Best Ball, and the Knox County Crush. Bryan
also explained that outings bring in significantly more revenue over regular play days, which
keeps the cost of passes down for our regulars.
Old Business:
Director Miles explained the rules about special meetings. Discussion at the meeting can only
pertain to what is on the agenda for that meeting. It was explained that if the only reason to
have a special meeting is to receive the final numbers for the 2025 season, those numbers

could be sent to all members without holding a special meeting by the Golf Professional at
anytime after the golf season ends.
New Business:
After a short discussion about the special meeting requirements, a motion was made by Devlin
with a 2nd by Bunch to rescind the request for a special meeting on December 16, 2025. Motion
passed unanimously.
Member Bunch suggested that he would like to see if the front and back sides could be
reversed like they originally were set up when the course was built. Golf Professional Luedtke
explained that the Golf Shop cannot see #13 tee (would be #1 tee if reversed) so there would
have to be starter out there all the time monitoring the area. There was a short discussion
about different configurations to reroute play.
Meeting adjourned at 5:00 P.M.
