Citizen Comments: None. Reports: Parks and Recreation Director: Director Miles reported that the2026 budget is done except for minor changes here and there. The budget for 2026 is very lean and 2027 seems to be looking that way as well. The drainage work has been moved to next year, since there was one bid submitted and was way outside budget parameters. The project will be rebid next spring for a fall installation. There are funds for more cart path work next year as well. Projects currently ongoing are the cart path work on hole #17, culvert cart pat work on hole #1. The bridge replacement on hole #3 will happen in November. The bridge on hole #6 will be removed later this fall and a culvert will be installed in its place. This work will be performed by Parks staff, just as was done on hole #1 earlier this fall. Council Liaison: Steve Cheesman reported that he is still working through the process of getting grant information. He said that he is still waiting to discuss the process with the Executive Director of the Peoria Park District, since they have received funds for golf projects in the past. Greenkeeper: Greenkeeper Miles reported. Parks and Recreation Department _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Page 2 of 5 • Considerable overseeding in the rough was done to help fill in thin areas. • Fertilizer has been applied to thin areas of rough around the greens, heavy cart traffic areas, and in play areas beside the fairways. • A water leak was repaired on the left side of the 10th tee. • A water leak was repaired under the cart path at the 6th tee. • The mowing of long rough areas has begun. • Green collars were aerated by pulling and collecting cores. • Leaf and debris removal has begun as the Fall Season has arrived. • Parks employees have replaced the front nine men’s door due to vandalism. • Water fountains have been brought in to prevent them from freezing up. • Cart Paths have been repaired with cold patch in places of degradation. Golf Professional: Golf Professional Luedtke provided a review of the numbers for September. Rounds were 500 above average, all revenue was flat, very similar to last year’s totals. Hosted the Year End Superball with 64 players, hosted four outings ranging from 72 to 96 golfers, which is very good for this time of year. Old Business: Director Miles explained that the Finance Director had a few suggestions for fee increases that were proposed back in June. The total fee will not change, but the pricing will be split between greens fee and cart fees to clean up the process. Basically, the tax will be programed into the POS system and included with the fee on the consumer end, just like food and beverage pricing has been done in the past. This was discussed with Golf Professional Luedtke before proceeding and was agreed upon. This proposal will be approved by the City Council at the November 3rd meeting. See below for further explanation.
