Citizen Comments: Bob Goad had recently turned 100 years old, and he told a few stories about getting into golf and having to rent clubs to play at first. He stated that he had played a lot of golf at Bunks and Laurel Greens throughout the years. Reports: Parks and Recreation Director: Matt Miles gave a prepared report by the director stating that the budget will be approved by council in December with only two capital projects for next year. The drainage project will be rebid next spring for a fall completion and there is $50,000 for more cart path work to be completed. The bridge for #3 is still planned for this year, it has just had some delays. The crossing work on #6 will be weather dependent as winter weather is impeding progress. Council Liaison: None. Greenkeeper: Greenkeeper Miles reported. • Considerable overseeding in the rough was done to help fill in thin areas. • Fertilizer has been applied to thin areas of rough around the greens, heavy cart traffic areas, and in play areas beside the fairways. Parks and Recreation Department _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Page 2 of 3 • A water leak was repaired on the left side the 10th tee. • A water leak was repaired under the cart path at the 6th tee. • The mowing of long rough areas was started. • Green collars were aerated by pulling and collecting cores. • Leaf and debris removal has begun as the Fall Season has arrived. • Parks employees have replaced the front nine men’s door due to vandalism. • Water fountains have been brought in to prevent them from freezing up. • Cart Paths have been repaired with cold patch in places of degradation. Questions were asked about tee resurfacing and drainage work. There were no funds allocated for tee resurfacing in 2026 and the golf maintenance staff are stretched too thin to attempt a project like that on their own. The second maintenance position was removed from the budget. The drainage work is the second and possibly the final phase of the work to eliminate excessive wet areas on holes 1,2,8,13,14, and 18. Golf Professional: Golf Professional Bryan Luedtke reported that the October rounds were down from 2024 by less than a hundred, but still seven hundred rounds above average. Revenue was up for golf, carts, and range. Most of the golf shop employees have indicated they plan to return for the 2026 season, which means there may have to be only a few new employees hired for next year. Experienced staff always help keep the whole operation running efficiently. The clubhouse is getting a new color of paint, working on organizing the storerooms, had to upgrade to a new credit card processor, and investigating new POS systems before next season. Old Business: None. New Business: Jerry Reynolds announced that he was resigning from the commission effective November 30 th. He feels that he does not spend enough time at the golf course to stay connected to items brought up at the meetings. His service was thanked by all commission members. Meeting adjourned at 4:52 P.M.
