GALESBURG LANDMARK COMMISSION
ERICKSON CONFERENCE ROOM OF GALESBURG CITY HALL
REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY MARCH 7, 2023 AT 5:30 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Suzanne Klohn, Mark Martin, Deb Sugai, Greta Woolsey, 4.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Bob Miener, 1.
OTHERS PRESENT: None.
Staff declared a quorum was present.
Approve Minutes of June 7, 2022
Member Martin made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Member
Woolsey.
Minutes were approved by voice vote.
Discuss Citizen Comment
None.
LC-23-0301 Consider Annual Historic Preservation Awards
Members discussed potential candidates to receive a historic preservation award.
Members agreed to request awards be presented during the May 15th Council
meeting.
There being no further business, Member Woolsey made a motion to adjourn, seconded by
Member Sugai, approved by voice vote the meeting adjourned at 6:17 P.M.

Landmark Commission Memo
Updates and items of General discussion
May 2, 2023
LC-23-0501
Per City Ordinance, the Landmark Commission shall elect from its membership a Chairperson and
Vice Chairperson who shall serve terms of one year and who shall be eligible for re-election. The
Chairperson shall preside over meetings. In the absence of the Chairperson, the Vice-Chairperson
shall perform the duties of the Chairperson.
Staff will open the meeting by taking attendance and confirming there is a quorum to conduct
business. Staff will then open the floor for nominations of the Chairperson first, then the Vice
Chairperson and the Commission shall vote. After the vote, the meeting will be turned over to the
newly elected Chairperson.

May 2023 Award Ceremony. The award will be presented at the beginning of the May 15th
Council meeting, which begins at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
Other information
Facade Advisory Committee. The FAC will be meeting in May to discuss one application.
