MINUTES
GALESBURG LANDMARK COMMISSION
PUBLIC WORKS CONFERENCE ROOM OF GALESBURG CITY HALL
REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY JANUARY 7, 2025 AT 5:30 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Suzanne Klohn, Mark Martin, Troy Treash, Greta Woolsey, 4.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Bob Miener, Deb Sugai, 2.
OTHERS PRESENT: Lucas Brooks, Associate Planner.
Staff declared a quorum was present.
Approve Minutes of September 3, 2024.
Member Woolsey made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Member
Martin.
Minutes were approved by voice vote.
Discuss Citizen Comment
None.
LC-25-0101 Discuss February Educational Meeting & Other Community Updates
Member Martin raised the idea of approaching the owners of historically- or architecturally-
significant properties that are not Local Landmarks and gauging their interest. For the February
meeting, Member Treash suggested that each Commission member invite a few people they think
would be interested in historic preservation or owns a property that the Commission members
want to see designated a Local Landmark. Members Klohn and Woolsey stated that an event
announcement should be put on the City’s website and Facebook page to garner further interest in
the event.
The Commission members directed Staff to draft an event announcement for the City’s website and
Facebook page, along with a smaller blurb for the invitations and the Burg newspaper.
There being no further business, Member Woolsey made a motion to adjourn, seconded by
Member Klohn, approved by voice vote the meeting adjourned at 6:14 P.M.
