LC-25-0901 Discuss Certificate of Appropriateness for 581 N Chambers St The applicant brought a representative from Renewal by Andersen who stated that the windows would be made of Fiber-Ex (a wood and vinyl composite), they would take out the current sashes and replace them. The replacement windows should have a 40-year lifespan with only a slight reduction in the glazing area. The applicant stated that the south elevation, which all these windows are on, is shaded by new tree plantings, and that the product is already in use next door. Member Klohn has used this product in her home and is happy with it. Member Miener expressed concerns about if using this product would maintain the historical presentation on a prominent elevation of the exterior, if it would lower the level of light, and if the product had as long a lifespan as restoration with wood. The representative from Andersen clarified by that the original wood and trim would remain, and that the rotted sill could be replaced either with aluminum or wood. Member Klohn moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness, seconded by Member Woolsey. Page 2 of 2 Roll Call #1 Ayes: Klohn, Sugai, Woolsey, 3. Nays: Miener, 1. Abstentions: None.
