Tree Commission Minutes, July 13, 2020
City Hall, Galesburg, Illinois
Meeting was called to order by Tony Oligney-Estill at 4:00 P.M.
Roll Call: Present: Members: Pat Trant, Ann Pennington, Debbie Steinberg, Jane Easterly,
City Arborist-Ryan Creek and Director of Parks & Recreation-Tony Oligney-Estill
Absent: Millie Allen
Minutes of June 8, 2020 where approved.
Arborist Report:
• The Arborist report was approved.
Old Business:
• Debbie received information for Standish Park Arboretum to start working on updating
the map. Debbie said she will need to manipulate the data to make it work but she will be
able to do this with some additional time.
• The Arbor Day tree planting will commence on Saturday, August 22 at 10:00 AM
regardless of how many people can be in attendance due to COVID restrictions. Three
locations have been identified to have trees planted at. Ryan is still deciding what types
of trees will be planted.
New Business:
• Tony will not be at the August 10th meeting. Ann Pennington agreed to run the meeting.
