Tree Commission Minutes, August 9, 2021
City Hall, Galesburg, Illinois
Meeting was called to order by Tony Oligney-Estill at 4:09 P.M.
Roll Call: Present: Members: Ann Pennington, Pat Trant, Jane Easterly, and Director of
Parks & Recreation-Tony Oligney-Estill
Absent: Millie Allen
Minutes of July 12, 2021 where approved.
Arborist Report:
• None. Tony said he would update the Commissioners before the next meeting.
Old Business:
• Commissioner Easterly mentioned that she heard a new person was appointed to be a
commissioner. Director Oligney-Estill had not heard anything about this but he
mentioned that the Mayor has been out of the office for a bit and will not return for
another week so maybe the communication just hasn’t occurred yet.
• The City closed the Arborist/Maintenance Worker search on July 18 with three
interviews taking place on July 23rd. The staff did not feel any of the candidates
interviewed fit what the City was looking for. The Maintenance Worker position opened
back up on August 2nd closing on August 13th. Interviews will be scheduled for the week
of August 23rd.
