Forestry Report: The Forestry Report was presented by Arborist Brandon Phillips. Brandon was asked if there were any stumps on the list. There are a few that have been found while staff are going around town and there are still many in the parks that will be removed later this fall. A question was asked how many of the removals are from storm damage this summer. The answer was one or two. Storm damage consisted of sections, instead of entire trees this time around. Old Business: Director Miles explained that the Champion Tree form is now also linked to the Forestry section of the Parks and Recreation page on the City website. Bill is still checking with the tree tag company about tags. The map update for Standish is on hold until the design consultant designates which trees may have to be removed for the project that will be happening soon. The arborist still needs to assess a few trees that were in question on the map. New Business: Bill Sime suggested that the Tree Commission should possibly set up a display at the Gateway 2 Community Fair at Knox College on September 16th. Parks and Recreation will already be in attendance with a table, so the plan could be to just set up a display at that booth. There will be more discussion at the next months meeting. Citizen Comments: None.
