Forestry Report: The Forestry Report was presented by Arborist Brandon Phillips. It was mentioned that tree removals were dramatically up compared to last year. Brandon admitted that the crew has been very busy trying to reduce the number of trees on the removal list. He also mentioned that Gary Johnson’s memorial tree had been replaced and that the brush drop off site will close for the season this Sunday November 16th. Old Business: Director Miles handed out a map showing the trees that will be removed over the winter at Standish Park. The number of diseased and compromised trees is twenty-seven, with three more that may possibly be removed in the future, once the scope of the revitalization project is determined. As was mentioned before, the removals and trims are warranted to address the safety concerns regarding the use of the park. The trees in the park have not had a thorough inspection for quite some time. Now that there is ample staff in Forestry, tree inspections should be carried out on a more regular basis in all parks. New Business: Jane Easterly made a motion to cancel the meeting for December. Bill Sime seconded the motion and the motion carried. Citizen Comments: None. Meeting adjourned at 4:18 P.M.
